SESSION PREPARATION

Every DAW has a different method of exporting files. Luckily there are many YouTube tutorials you can find for your specific DAW detailing the process if you run into any issues.

Non-essential means any processing you added that doesn't define the sound itself (typically EQ, compression, reverb, delays are best bypassed). Guitar amps, virtual instruments, filters, unique effects, pitch-correction are all fine to leave on. 

Comping of takes, time correction, editing, and pitch correction should be taken care of prior to mixing.

If you'd like me to re-amp any guitars, please send both the amp tone and the D.I. tracks.

This ensures that all files will align properly when imported into a new session. You can test this on your end. In the end, you should be left with a set of files which are all the same length and same file size.

Please name your files according to what is on the track rather than any default names your DAW provides. Names like "audio-12 bip" can be difficult to work with.

Export in 24-bit (or higher) and the sample rate at which your session was tracked at. WAV or AIFF.

Name your folder:

Artist - Song - BPM

Some good file name examples:

• Bass DI
• Rhythm GTR L Chorus
• Snare Bottom
• Wave Synth Pad
